Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography is an imaging method that can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions are generally painless non-invasive procedures and are non-radiating. During the exam, a qualified Registered Technologist will apply a water-based gel to the area of concern. They will then place the Transducer (imaging camera) on the skin and take specific images required for the ordered procedure using high frequency sounds waves.
